The Monica Hyatt

Janeane Garofalo's said it, and Jon Stewart's said it. Stephen Colbert has made a mockery of it.
GATE IS NOT A SUFFIX FOR POLITICAL MISDEEDS.
Honestly. Watergate is the hotel where the Nixon thing happened.
So when local broadcasters start calling it Gloria-gate and Jueteng-gate, I want to take a weapon of mass destruction and blow them into smithereens. Because "gate" is not a suffix.
Why. Why do we put up with this?
Why do we put up with the scream-and-shout-to-deviate-attention-
from-the-lack-of-proper-news-reporting-skills and this brain-dead manner of informing the Filipino audience?

On a happier note, I found out last weekend that I have a video copy of Annie Hall. It's VHS, but at least I have it.
I really need to clean my room.

Quick edit: Reason to enjoy "ordinary" coffee: Kopi Luwak.
