I've never actually seen the movie, and the premise of a sequel is kinda iffy, but come on: look at that cast.
It has Andrew McCarthy! And I'm not even being ironic when I say that with an exclamation mark. This guy deserves a better career than what he's got going now, because underneath all that 80's shine is actually a decent actor (yes, Andrew, you deserve better than Lipstick Jungle).
It's got RDJ; and while he's not mentioned on the poster, it's also got James Spader in his typical 80's evil role. Nobody did evil in the 80's quite like the Spader. Anyone who can rock white shoes the way he did in Pretty in Pink is in the high echelons of awesome (even if he's kinda chunky in Boston Legal).
I think Vulture (have I mentioned how much I love this site?) put it best with this:
Although it's been a while since we've seen Jami Gertz appear in anything noteworthy, the prospect of seeing that triumvirate of still-potent male eighties acting icons teaming up again is enough to make us forgive Universal for reigniting the star power of Vin Diesel and Paul Walker.
Ahahaha. They go on to suggest reuniting The Bangles, which is a movement I would totally sign up for. I heart you, Vulture editors.
