You suck, WB

For the trailers for Clone Wars, I was reminded to look forward to Tropic Thunder, The Day the Earth Stood Still, and HP: Half-Blood Prince. Two of these I anticipate eagerly, one... I anticipate to suck.

Now, we all know Tropic Thunder rocks because it has already unseated The Dark Knight in American box office, but it also has Robert Downey Jr. in it. I think we can all forego the Tom Cruise cameo for the sake of seeing RDJ rule the screen.

And Harry Potter. The trailer said this year, but as you may or may not know, release date has been moved to NEXT YEAR. (you suck, WB) Yes, I am awash in tears myself, and not even Cedric Diggory's vampire love story will make the pain go away.

And i worry for Jennifer Connelly.

Also? WB is trying to block the showing of Watchmen due to who officially holds distribution rights. Well, you sit on the project for years and it finally gets made to frenzied anticipation, should you really blame anyone else but yourself?

Now, i bet you're sitting there asking, why, Jojo (don't you dare try that as my nickname)? Why? Why would you even be sitting in a cinema for Clone Wars knowing it's just George Lucas wanking? Because Star Wars, despite its more recent incarnations, still rules (except the Cartoon Network's Clone Wars series. Those rocked). And, really: this didn't have Hayden Christensen's wooden acting, so how bad could it be?

It wasn't genius, but it wasn't too painful. And it still doesn't make up for the suckfest that were Episodes 1 & 2 (I kind of forgive Episode 3 if only for the duel between Anakin and Obi-Wan in the volcanic planet). Let's put it this way: If you like Star Wars, and want to forgive the prequels, you should watch this movie. If you didn't waste time and money on the prequels but loved the original trilogy, you can live without this movie.
(You suck, WB, for even having this movie greenlit.)

Wall-E is excellent because he's cute and Eve is all kinds of awesome. When Eve practically destroys those tankers due to sheer annoyance, well, she stole my heart. Yes, Wall*e is adorable. I particularly love the sound he makes when he's fully charged. But, geez, that was a little stalker-esque, wasn't it?

Zohan? A wonderful mix of Apatow and Sandler, and the casting of John Turturro is brilliant. Sometimes, Adam Sandler justifies his paycheck and reminds you that other than Tina Fey, SNL does beget brilliance.

And The X-Files movie wasn't as bad as I expected it to be. Yes, the tag line is cheesy and the fact that it's recited ad nauseam is annoying, but if you were a fan of the series, it's nice to catch up with Mulder and Scully. And any use of Callum Keith Rennie (Leoben!!!) is fine by me.

Frak. I need to write more. As evidenced by the last few entries, it seems I cannot hold a thought for much longer than the length of an advert.

This week's purchase: DVDs of Memento and The Usual Suspects. There will be no borrowing or lending of said items, so don't bother to ask.

The beatings will continue until morale improves.

Bitch. Borrowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

I'm not going to watch the Clone Wars unless I'm so bored that I am compelled to do so just to pass the time. Cause despite Hayden's wooden acting at least he showed his nipples. This being sans nipple (I think) will not be worth the 120 bucks Ayala Cinema will be charging my ass to sit on their seat.

Ditto on Eve. Too bad her shape is not conducive for standing upright unaided. She would have made a great ipod accessory (speaker). Alas I settle for Wall-E.
