Powerbooks is on sale for the month of August.

Speedbump will wear me down with argument, but let's get this out of the way: why the hype on Twilight? It isn't really any good. Okay, it's nice reading, but this fever pitch is beyond me.

Don't get me wrong, i still enjoy young adult literature, and I loved Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles up until Book 3 (Queen of the Damned), so I understand the whole vampire romance twist (and, fine: I loved David Boreanaz for seasons 1 and 2 of Buffy). But this is, truly, young adult stuff. This isn't as trancendent as the excellent Harry Potter series. It isn't even as riveting as the first three Vampire Chronicles.

Am I going to watch the movie? Only if someone else is paying for the ticket, because I love Robert Pattison as Cedric Diggory, and him playing someone else will likely ruin him for me.

... Speaking of. The first five movies of the Harry Potter series are available as a box set on sale at Tower Records/Music One in Quad Glorietta 3. Other titles on sale are Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Casablanca, 300, Full Metal Jacket, and a whole lot more, including, among others, Rebel Without A Cause.

Special mention for the James Dean movie because James Franco's Funny or Die series is all kinds of wicked.

Lily: Sister Sunshine was my hippie phase. I guess Chanterelle was my exotic phase.
Buffy: It's a mushroom.
Lily: Oh. That's really embarrassing.
Buffy: It's an exotic mushroom, if it makes you feel better.
(Buffy)

ETA: Also on sale at Music One/Tower: Studio 60 at a much lower price than what I paid for it. Dammit.
