I don't work in advertising, but this is damn funny.
I hate/loathe the Mr. Shooli campaign by DBP. That schtick ended a long time ago, and the ad loses all point and meaning at the end of the ad. What's the moral of the story? That any self-righteous person can be bought off? Is that it? Argh.
But: I love my friends.
O and F are back in Manila, if only momentarily, and as much as I may have complained about my coworkers at my last place employment, the truth is distance truly does make the heart grow fond. (Except for some certain coworkers, of course. They know who they are... or not. But if they like effing MYMP, that would be them.) O comes bearing good stories, and gifts from her partner in crime in the Middle East, A (also a former coworker). A sent a hard drive for me, which is lovely in all its 500Gb glory.
There are lots of stories O has brought with her, but I particularly love this one, from when she was newly-arrived in Abu Dhabi:
Ext. Park - Day
O and A are walking along when they see a group of kids playing football.
(translated from Pilipino)
O: In this country, is it called "soccer", or "football"?
A: (seriously) Park.
hahahahahaha.
Now, although I want to enforce my Hala obsession upon my dear friends, I fear that they may not quite grasp an obsession with a CNN anchor/reporter. Maybe I'll just make them stay in Abu Dhabi a little while longer until I gather enough cash to make the trip (perhaps a week or two before the end of the month? hehe.) so I can stalk a certain CNN crew filming a certain "lifestyle" program.
"This is great. He can be anything he wants and he chooses to be the bane of my existence."
- Miss Parker (The Pretender)
I think I want Kylie's album.
