just like mine was

i've had it with being a good friend. the fact that people expect me to say the truth that nobody else would dare say, that i am the cruela de vil in my friends' lovelives, may give me some leverage, some uncensored freedom, but i can't do this anymore.

look. i appreciate a good love story as much as the next person, but this is too much. when there's a kid, and there's a longtime girlfriend, of course i'm not going to jump for joy and encourage anyone to do it. there's no way i'm going to tell someone to go get her guy.
because, for the love of god, there's slut, and then there's mass stupidity.

to recap: she and guy work together. she and guy got together. she and guy no longer work together. she and guy still are together.

i have a feeling it's because of comany policy, and i don't know how to react to that. i'm not built with that kind of wiring. and, what, i'm expected to smile pretty and say i'm happy for them?

fuck me gently with a chainsaw. who do i look like to you, mother teresa? - heather mcnamara, "heathers"

anyway. what else is on my mind...

ANA GASTEYER IS NO LONGER WITH SNL. This is the saddest thing. She was killer in the show, especially when she does her "Bobbi and Marty" skits with Will Ferrell. Of course, when Ferrell left, Ana had to stick it out with her spot-on Martha Stewart, Celine Dion and even Hillary Rodham-Clinton impersonations. Her NPR (public radio) skits. That bit about being on Lilith Fair as politically-correct feminist Cinder Calhoun. Yes, the rest of the girls (Rachel Dratch, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and Maya Rudolph) are good, too, but Ana Gasteyer is our generation's SNL female icon. Yes, Tina Fey's funny, but can she sing?
ANA COME BACK!!!

She plays the violin, too. I don't know. The minute it finally dawned on me that Ana was no longer in the cast, I was like, screw this. Now I just stick around to catch Weekend Update with Tina and Amy.

By the way, as of right now I've started a personal Who's Cooler poll between Amy Poehler and Tina Fey. Because while Tina wrote Mean Girls and is the first female head writer for SNL, Amy was a regular fixture on Late Night with Conan O'Brien.

Well, if I wear this shade, you can't wear it too, or you can have your fringes across the chest, and I'll have them here (shoulders), like Destiny's Child.
- Tina Fey, her wardrobe advice when she and Amy started doing Weekend Update together.

Belly - Untitled and Unsung. I miss Belly. I totally resent the fact that they broke up on my birthday, back in 1996, but I miss Tanya Donnelly's soothing vocals. When she sings her dreamy, ethereal songs it's like, I can rest now. They were, and still are, my weakness, musically. The lyrics are so disjointed, a complete freefall of thoughts and ideas, that you can make of it whatever you want. Sigh.
Don't ask me to pick my favorite Belly song, because that's never gonna happen. I cannot pick just one.

kind of common cry
kind of common living lie
you know the shape my breath will take before i let it out
- belly (now they'll sleep)

cheers.
