shut up, street cats

There are cats making tons of noise nearby. Of the ohmygodstophavingsex variety.

I love cats, I do, especially when they're adorable (like Puss in Boots in Shrek 2), but must they let the whole world know they're getting laid?

Then I verified a not-known-to-me-fact, and came upon this, and it doesn't make it any more understandable:

Cats on the other hand perform their amorous, but noisy encounters in the night and rarely in sight. Only the tom licking his wounds is the indictment of some fight over territory or a female in oestrous. Cats are or appear more subtle lovers than dogs, though the barbs on the males penis which scrape the females sex organs upon intercourse account for some of those blood curdling screams during the night, but that=s the way of the cat and they truly are the sexual masochists of the pet world. Perhaps that why dogs come into more criticism because they flaunt their wares unashamedly in our lounge or a public park not as a moving shadow in the night.

(Italics mine.)

This poor cat just heard this fact.

WTF, God (or whatever else was in charge of designing animal sex organs)? What. The. Fuck.

The neighborhood cats have this predilection of mating underneath my windowsill (which is in a way mocking my non-existent sex life). What I do is that I use old batteries as ammo. This way, I get to get rid of the rubbish AND cats.

Now if I can only clear the old batteries on the gutter...
