All we need now is Tina Fey and Kristen Wiig to come into this group (rounded up by The Hollywood Reporter), and it would be a fungasm.
There is nothing wrong with the nominees for Best Actress and Supporting Actress for Comedy on the Emmy nominations, IMHO:
Actress, Comedy Series: Julia Louis-Dreyfus, “The New Adventures of Old Christine,” CBS; Christina Applegate, “Samantha Who?” ABC; Sarah Silverman, “The Sarah Silverman Program,” Comedy Central; Tina Fey, “30 Rock,” NBC; Toni Collette, “United States of Tara,” Showtime; Mary-Louise Parker, “Weeds,” Showtime.
Supporting Actress, Comedy Series: Kristin Chenoweth, “Pushing Daisies,” ABC; Amy Poehler, “Saturday Night Live,” NBC; Kristin Wiig, “Saturday Night Live,” NBC; Jane Krakowski, “30 Rock,” NBC; Vanessa Williams, “Ugly Betty,” ABC; Elizabeth Perkins, “Weeds,” Showtime.
See that? Chenoweth!!! You suck, ABC.
It's nice to know that Mary-Louise Parker is still funny. There are some interviews with her that makes her come off as such a Serious Actress that I was actually worried. Whew.
Parker (whispering): What the fuck is a single-camera comedy?
Sarah Silverman: It's like a show where there isn't a live audience. It's kind of an old term. Single-camera and three-camera.
Parker: I really am this stupid, by the way.
And, being such polite people that they are, discuss behind her back The One:
Jane Krakowski: Tina (Fey) astounds me because she wears all of the hats on ("30 Rock") and is raising a child. She'll shoot the show all day and then go home and write until like 2 in the morning. And then her daughter will bop in at 6 a.m. going, "Hi Mommy!" I really don't know how she does it.
Poehler: She has a heroin problem.
Krakowski: No!
Poehler: What, we're not supposed to say that? Sorry, that's off the record.
I love you, Mrs. Arnett. Your husband was funny too on Jimmy Fallon. Perhaps your show can funnier next season?
Applegate and Parker:
