What is it with rush hour that brings out the innate maniac in all of us?
I took the MRT earlier, and the Ayala Station was having its own reenactment of the Fall of Saigon. People were all clustered together in what was supposed to be resembling lines, groups were having fevered discussions on God-knows-what, and I for one just wanted to get the hell away. Except I wasn't in the mood to hang out at Glorietta, and I would rather suffer playing Sardines with complete strangers in the train than take the public rollercoaster, aka the bus.
Sometimes I just hate taking public transportation. But while friends and family describe my (absence of any) driving skills as "Helen Keller", I guess public transpo it is.
Way back when, Tech TV had an "investigation" on the progress of man on the development of personal jet packs (Bond, anyone?) and Jetsons-like crafts to use for transportation. Both were in development hell.
Gasoline prices are skyrocketing, transportation fares are rising, and all our government has to say about it is that they have to raise taxes to "save" the national budget.
They're increasing taxes on books, for the love of God.
We'll all kill. It's just the circumstances that vary.
