Holy Week, Batman!!!

my head hurts. i just woke up with this massive migraine, but i am bravely soldiering on as Good Employee. i've already taken an advil to kill it, but advil doesn't seem to be working today. hmmn. must be my brain, then.

maybe i need an anvil. or a piano.
ANYA: We should drop a piano on her. Well, it always works for that creepy cartoon rabbit when he's running from that nice man with the speech impediment.GILES: (rolls his eyes) Yes, or perhaps we could paint a convincing tunnel on the side of a mountain. Let's just keep thinking, everyone.
 (buffy, "spiral")

it's holy week. i know i'm being a complete hypocrite to take part in the vacation this religious holiday demands, but i will take a holiday any way i can get it.

what else.
oh, right. Jars of Clay.

Jars of Clay.

on a night i was massively sick and nursing a cough and cold, i went to the Jars of Clay concert. it was the middle of the work week, it was late, it was jars of clay.

now, i will admit that i am not Rabid Fan, but you know how there are just some groups, that even though you're not really a fan, you'd still go take the opportunity to attend their concert? well, that's me with jars of clay. i don't love them, but i have a song or two of theirs in my long list of favorite songs.

anyway.

my friend speedbump and i were seated in the balcony seat area, which was fine because it's not like there's a band member we really want to get upcloseandpersonal with.

they were good, although the audio of the venue left plenty to be desired. they played about twenty songs (i know, that's not a "real" concert, but you take what you can, right?), their hits, mostly.

the beef: there was this part where they got this guy and girl to sing Unforgetful You. then the guy proposed to the girl. personally, i could've lived without having to live through that shame festival. i almost wished the girl had said no, to make it worthwhile. i mean, honestly. the proposal was bad enough, but did they have to interrupt (and almost ruin) my concert viewing experience with their version of Unforgetful You?

i hated the opening spiel by some minister who was spouting off on the religious aspect of Jars of Clay, and in the magazine they distributed at the concert, there was an article that reads that non-catholics are "filthy". you hypocrites, go unbless yourselves.

anyway. moving on.

loved the concert, mostly. but since i was being sick, couldn't gloat to my coworkers.
