Joss Whedon, where art thou?

I miss Buffy. When television seemed so dull and boring, Buffy the Vampire Slayer came along and fixed that problem.
Now there's just drivel on the TV screen. Save, of course, for CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (Las Vegas). And, when HBO feels like it, Six Feet Under.

But the drama genre is easy. Find me anything even remotely deviating from the standard drama formula and I'm there.
But what about comedy? The Simpsons, of course. Frasier's ended its run. I watch Friends, but I don't love it. Arrested Development isn't being shown locally.

Buffy and Angel provided a good balance between drama and comedy, its humor often subtle, but once you get it, it's not something you easily forget. Or let go of.

Sometimes when I'm bored I read Buffy transcripts, remember the scenes, and have to smile. Because they're damn funny.

I wish Joss would go back to television. His talent is exponential and would benefit from working on feature films, but TV needs Joss Whedon, regardless of what some idiot on the WB says.

By the way, he wasn't offered to work on the new X-Men movie.

WHY?!?!?!?!?
