pick a part

Before all else, let me just tell you, dear readers, to go and see Bonnie's latest entry. I don't have an iPod, but I have felt this way with my things.

Conundrum: Freaks and Geeks DVD, or Strangers with Candy? They cost almost the same, and I'm ordering them from a local store (Speedbump, I owe you for introducing me to this guilt).

Credit card application - stay or go? I'm still debating over this. I really don't think I have the discipline for it.

I really ought to find new employment.

My half brother, at age 27, just got promoted to AVP of HSBC. HSBC!! AVP!! 27!! And what have I achieved? Nothing! Nada!
I was fine with my life plan until this happened. I need to have done something by 30. My other half-sibs are doing fine, EIC-ing and Managing Editor-ing it up in two different magazines. And I? Nothing!

My "Grrrr" right now is such a lousy purr. I suck.

My review of the INXS concert (which I watched while bordering on near-dengue):
MiG, next time, get another band to perform with you. The Dawn is NOT the house band of Rock Star. As Tim Farriss once said, you acknowledge the band, because they're there for a reason. As a performer, you need your band.
So INXS still rocks. Jon's (drummer) still the hottest (Farriss) of them all. And maybe it's all the Rock Star: INXS viewing, but all I can think when I see Tim is "Sorry, (blank), but you're just not right for INXS." He said this to Jordis, to Suzie, to Ty! So wrong. (Well, on Jordis and Ty, anyway. They would be better away from the INXS discography. But Suzie?) So, yeah, Tim's not my favorite Farriss right now.
And I love you Andrew Farriss, and I loathe that most the people who were at the concert probably only knew JD Fortune. You're right, you should have gotten Sweet Suzie McNeil, but clearly the rest of the band wanted Michael Hutchence 2.0. I'm not opposed to JD, he's hot and all, but... And it's just wrong when "Afterglow" is the chosen anthem over "By My Side". When "Pretty Vegas" gets more cheers than "New Sensation" or "What You Need". I wanted to hear Listen Like Thieves, or The Gift. I already know JD's singing can't handle The Gift, so what can you do.
I'm not opposed to JD, really. I've said he's hot, have I not? But a concert is not a strip show, I don't care how hot you are (ask me this again after I watch James Marsters strip in a concert). Watching JD gyrate onstage made me think, well, if this rock star thing doesn't work out, he already has a fall back. And I'm glad he stuck to New Sensation's nod/cue to Kirk, "trumpet".
But, JD, to borrow from a writer who reviewed the new album: Michael Hutchence owns you.

And if the name "JD Fortune" seems made for rock stardom, shouldn't it do the same for Ryan Star?

I am now convinced that nobody can replace Michael Hutchence. JD Fortune...shaking his booty. Oh. How humdrum. And Ty? of course he not for INXS, how gay can you get?

I went so I can hear them sing Disappear. They didn't sing it. Arrrrg. Was it too much to ask for them to sing it?

I didn't watch Rock Star: INXS because I didn't want to see Michael be replaced. In a reality T.V. show no less. So I never got why JD Fortune is a big deal. He looks hot enough but he ain't no Mike. He's more like a hot guy who would make a killing if he ever thought of becoming a male stripper.

Oh yeah, Jet may have lost mucho weight but I still see him as a look alike of Pong Paggong.

Ooh, pray tell, what is this local store? Amazon is seriously hurting my bank account.

Ah, dilemma. Didn't Freaks and Geeks only last for one season though? If the Strangers With Candy set you're getting is the complete series, they did last for three seasons (30 eps). If you get just one season of SWC, baka mabitin ka.
