Yesterday, before the winds grew spectacularly strong and the lights went out, Mari Ramos looked almost excited in her reporting of how strong the storm was going to be.
Well...
In the height of the winds and all that jazz, I looked out our window and watched a panel struggle to free itself from a neighbor's roof (don't worry, they've got plenty). And all I can think of is Jon Stewart saying, "... it almost cut Anderson Cooper into 180." Hee. Heeheehee.
But, really. Trees uprooted, debris everywhere... I do reckon the country hasn't seen a Storm Signal #3 like this in a while. I wish I had a decent digital camera just to document all this.
The garden at the Ayala Triangle looks like... well... like Helm's Deep after the Orcs got their hellacious ass whomping.
But, hot dang, there's no electricity! I'm really hoping that's changed by now, but oh lordy that was troublesome yesterday. The only fun part was that I got to hang around with my cousin, whom I hardly ever get to see anymore (this work thing is such a nuisance).
Then we move on:
One of the things we discussed was the upcoming Transformers movie. Points made were:
1) will people recognize what Soundwave is supposed to be?
2) no rights from VW, so Bumblebee might not be a Beetle. How that works, who knows.
3) Megatron is supposed to become a tank, which makes a whole lot more sense than the "suspension of belief" that he turns into a gun that fits into Star Scream's hand.
4) Two cars should not be in the movie: Prowl and Jazz. Because if they look nothing like the cartoon, we're going to be very disappointed.
There was once this article that said one ultimate geek fantasy is to have The Death Star not only fully operational, but for it to turn into a robot and kick Skywalker's ass, ala Unicron in Transformers: The Movie.
And this is lovely.
I have to attend some meeting thingy for work tomorrow, so I'll digress if I want to.
"If I do this, will you PLEASE. SHUT. UP!!!"
