Let's go over why I like Sophie Ellis-Bextor.
1) That face. She formerly worked as a model, and good lord those cheekbones are to die for.
2) She's funny. At least, from the videos and the few interviews I've seen and read.
3) She keeps on preventing Victoria Beckham from having a #1 single. (Because even though I've stopped hearting David doesn't mean I resent her any less.)
4) She's like Nina Persson only more clever, and possibly more talented.
5) Speaking of Nina, Sophie, too, has done a recording with the Manic Street Preachers. (Now, I cannot testify to the quality of said recording, and the Manics have also recorded with Traci Lords -- and if you don't know who Traci Lords is, I can't help you -- but, come on. It's the Manics.)
6) The Murder on the Dancefloor video:
Look at that video. Bask in her awesomeness:
7) That face, again. Observe how she conveys so many emotions and opinions with only her facial expression. This is the kind of ability that Tyra can only hope to inspire with her ANTM contestants.
8) It's such a clever and funny video. If only we can see this kind of bitchery on DWTS.
(sidebar: You're asking yourself, why all the references to sad, sad reality competitions, J? That's just... sad. No reason, only that, as an article I read recently pointed out, there's nothing more pathetic than reality show stars being... reality show stars. You know what I'm talking about.)
9) It was funny the first time I saw it, and it's still funny now.
10) She's like a chameleon, only she is consistently Sophie Ellis-Bextor. See the I Won't Change You video:
Her new album comes out soon.

I'll send the Manics/Sophie duet down your way. Started to love her because of it.
Speaking of Traci Lords, I recently discovered her male erg...gay counterpart. Counterpart as in he was also discovered to have been underaged when he started. But that's not the interesting part. What is interesting is that he looks like Zac Efron. Hahahaha.
