Cue: fangirl squee-ing.
Yay Kristin Chenoweth and Neil Patrick Harris! Kristin's uncensored squeal during the announcements just made it that more special. None of that ridiculous "I-was-woken-by-the-phone-call-ringing" crap other nominees often say. Which is why I like it when the Ugly Betty cast getting nominated, because they really appreciate it (yes, Katherine "My Father the Hero" Heigl, I'm looking at you).
And Bryan Fuller got nominated, too. Which means exactly what it does, Tim Kring: let your writers create, because they can come up with things to surprise you (FYI to my dear readers: Bryan Fuller is the writer/creator of Pushing Daisies, and has also been behind such lovely creations such as Dead Like Me and Wonderfalls, which are as great as they sound. He was also the writer behind Claire's first season story arc for Heroes.)
Did I mention squeeing for the Emmy nominations?
Sure, there are the other disappointments (no love for BSG, The Tudors, or Elizabeth Perkins) but, hey: no acting nods for Desperate Housewives.
