truthiness

Jonny Lee Miller is in Aeon Flux!!! Now there's a reason to watch it.

Now, to the main purpose of this entry: Is it a kulasa thing, or is it just me? The Boy is only to be known as such. Around the workplace he takes on various incarnations, such as Love Interest, Him, He, The Guy... I've never been one to give away the name, maybe it's the "Spike and Buffy, sitting on a tree" thing. You say the name and suddenly any variation will garner the annoying "uuuyyy" cooing of the people around.

ANYWAY.
Saw Prime last week with Speedbump. Thank heavens for Bonnie's advice to lower one's expectations, it wasn't as horrible an experience as it would've been. The premise, of course, we all know, having seen the trailer alongside Goblet of Fire. Speedbump and myself, of course, watched it not for storyline but for Bryan Greenberg (Jake on -- errgh -- One Tree Hill). The good: Meryl Streep and Uma Thurman, with Bryan thrown into the mix. The bad: the writer-director - -is the same guy who gave us that ooh-indie-boys-in-one-room Boiler Room. Back when Ben Affleck still qualified as an Indie (movie) Boy.
Anyway, the key to enjoying the film is lowered expectations. The "wtf?" editing, the lackluster dialogue... actually the script doesn't really suck until the last ten minutes of the movie.

Moving on.

Oh crap. Something new to stea--- borrow from the internet: Anderson Cooper on The Colbert Report. Dear Andy: please be quick witted and... oh... new with Stephen. He will walk all over you if you give him the chance, even if you were on People's Sexiest Men list.

Bon: I realized that in your LJ entry, certain dates coincide with the time we were actually classmates, or still spent a lot of time together. Pity that I was -- and still am -- too immature to have noticed.
Then again, I live mostly in my head, and probably wouldn't notice people are hurting if they, like the Dementors, left death and destruction in their wake. Maybe it's all that time spent with people like slut-o-(d)rama, who put drama in their lives where there is no drama to be found.

When I refer to certain other blogs, knowing they don't know about mine, I sometimes wonder if people are referencing this whine center (would you like some cheese with that?) and having fun at their own expense, as well.

Ignorance can be such bliss.

I hate they make us take that thing. It's totally fascist, and personally, I think it, uh, discriminates against the uninformed.

Additions:
A stage is being set up outside. for the SEA Games athletes. Okay, I'm proud, and everything, but a SEAG gold does not an Olympic Gold make. If and when we can make it to the top of the SEAG medals table for at least two years straight, maybe. Until then, dude, the Olympics are too expensive for that kind of international shame.
Wait. We can make heroes of people who beat other people up.

Scott Stapp of Creed has gone solo. Bleah. Hated him with the band, hate him solo. In fact, he's probably the most annoying lead singer ever.

Christina Applegate and Jonathon Schaech are getting divorced! Awww. So sad.

And:
Ahh, Christmas season. You know what that means. ADVENT. Yes, and since most people who read this know I come from the land of the maid's uniform, it also means that during this season, the sight of an advent wreath is able to put me in uncontrollable fits of laughter.

Does anybody else remember the Morning Praise when an advent wreath burst into flames? Chrys knows what I'm talking about.
*wistful sigh* Good times.

... The flammable advent wreath, not morning praise.

Never paid attention during Morning Praise. It's too damn early to praise anything, specially on a Monday. Also, hihi on the whole 'You want cheese with that' comment. Actually I'm more like bwahahahahahaha. God, I'm still not over that.

Haha. "Truthiness." =D I recognize that.My memory bank does have a vague memory of a flaming advent wreath, but I could be rusty. Am I right in saying that that said morning praise was in the Prep Area, before MP was relocated to balding field?

tangina benta rin sa kin yung cheese comment haha. too bad you didn't enjoy prime, tho. buti na lang talaga winarningan kita. of course you would have much higher standards than me. benta lang kasi sa kin yung mga facial expressions ni meryl streep. she could have easily gone over the top (kung pinoy film yun, patay), pero she communicates so much na with the slighest move of facial muscles, nakakabilib talaga :)re: my previous lj entry, i'm sure you've got loads of hellish stories that you've kept from me and everyone else rin naman e. lahat naman tayo may ganun. but i still maintain that it's friends, whether they know it or not, who are always able to make the shit that comes with living bearable :)
